My Model of Seal A Meal Vacuum Food Sealer

My 1st Seal a Meal Vacuum Food Sealer was a FoodSaver by Tilla that was purchased 12/89 from SAMS Club. This was the first commercial Quality Vacuum Packaging System for the home. Also included in the system was the wide mouth & regular jar attachments. This particular model no longer is being produced. We still have this particular Foodsaver. It still works. We keep it in case our present one should give us problems. The reason why we had upgraded to a better one was that this particular model could not be used it very long at one time. The machine would get hot & would have to let it cool down. Since we were using the Seal a Meal Vacuum Food Sealer so much, it couldn’t keep up with our demand.

Our present model, Foodsaver Professional III, as shown above was purchased in 2006. Since I buy a lot of my food in bulk, I needed to have a Seal A Meal Vacuum Food Sealerthat would hold up to our demand. We can use the machine up to 15 minutes at a time before letting it cool. We also process majority of our own meat which is the main reason why we needed a dependable machine. Since having this machine, we no longer experience the problems of food going bad. Most studies state that meat shouldn’t last for long periods of time but I have had meat in the freezer 3 – 4 years that was vacuumed packed that looked just as fresh as the day I put it in the freezer. Once all the air is removed out of the package, the shelf life for freezer foods will be indefinite.

Foodsaver does make different models of Seal A Meal Vacuum Food Sealerbased on how much you will be utilizing it, what you will be using it for, the price & what meets your expectations. All of the machines will give the same end results.
